Gunna make a big change with my grilling set up.......

Ok the results are in!!!! I finished the quick resto on the Gen II 210 and put her on the deck to compete for the top spot. Will it win over the job as the only grill I actually need? Will it force out the beloved lime green Q 1200? She is all clean and fired right up. Temp rose at a medium pace and eventually got to 500 so I could just do a quick sanitize of the grill prior to cooking.....switching from the previous owners grease over to my grease :) . As mentioned before I am a terrible chef so just cooking Costco hamburgers with cheese and a egg for the trial run. There were several pro's over the Weber Q.......the first pro was that I was rockin a 20lb tank. Second pro was the massive stainless steel prep tables vs the elephant ears on the Q. Third pro....just a tad bit more cooking space. Fourth pro....the Gen II burners are awesome and I can sear at high heat if I want. Overall this is not a fair competition....its not apples and apples. These are two different units made to do two different things. But for cooking on the deck yep the 210 kicked some butt while still allowing Genesis pride vs Spirit entry level. I will re-purpose the Q or sell it. I dont camp or tailgate so selling it will make the purchase of the 210 a wash. I will include pics just because us Weber folks like to see pics!

I didn't want the file to get to big so I will do it in two shots.........round 2 here........Soooooo u guys will most likely judge my cooking....I told you I'm a work in progress. I should have just left the burgers alone long enough to get good grill marks but I didn't......I got flip happy. My wife likes her burger on the leather side of things. Also I probably should have used butter with the eggs to get them to brown. I still have a lot to learn.....I can fix em.......not so good at cookin on em

More pics! Love it!
If a 210 comes up for sale near me I'll grab it

I'm working on getting parts ordered for my Genesis Junior that I'm converting to NG. It'll be interesting to see how it compares.

Love the 2 burner size

Are you calling your 240 the Genesis Junior or this that some model I haven't heard of yet? My big Gen 335 just sat back and watched as the grill games took place. The 335 has always been the champ.

Ha....I wanted to brown the edges....but they have to still be runny. I'm not a picky eater so believe me it didn't slow me down any :)

Wow.....now that is cool! I love that its a deep box 11 bar. Less grease fire and better cooking. Great resto...that is a true classic. Now I have to get my Genesis Jr patch.

Well, I got the final part for my Q220 conversion to NG and hook up to the NG line.
She runs about 100 degrees higher on the top end than it did on Propane which is what I was hoping for. No more tank swaps and no more clearing snow from the tank valve with bare hands at -8 degrees F.

This is after a good half hour on high. Not need to worry about a nuclear meltdown, but much better than the anemic 450F that it topped out at on LP. Should be quicker heat ups now too.

Yep, I am really getting used to it on the LX S240 and now the Q220. I won't convert my SS Platinum Frankengrill, because I don't use it all that much any more other than special cooks and I keep it in the garage when not in use. But, my Daily Drivers work well with NG. But, I know it will happen one of these days where I leave the grill on. I just hope it doesn't turn into a 3-4 day deal resulting in an inflated gas bill or worse yet a burn injury. I will have to be more careful.

I have refilled lots of the disposable 1lb'ers but find the seal at the top often start to leak. I have tried to lubricate them with minimal success. I wound up buying a 4 pack of the metal screw on tops with a seal and they do work. The flame king has never leaked.
You can refill the 1lb ones but they are not approved for transport if refilled.

I've got in the habit of turning off my grill and turning the valve off on my NG stub before I bring my food in the house
