Grillers Wings n Rubs

Gene Brownson

TVWBB All-Star
I cooked up some wing late last weekend and ran out of time to post these up. I donated $ to someone in exchange for their recipes for the spice rubs. This is my first go at grinding and blending spices to make a rub. Here's a pic of the trio.

For this one I used the citrus for some flappers. I first coated them with honey mustard dressing, then hit em with the citrus rub.

I fired up the 22" kettle and found some bacon cheddar grillers so they joined the party also

Let em all get good and cozy with some indirect heat and finished with some direct to crisp up the wings a bit. I hit em with some stubbs sweet heat just before pulling them off.

The finished wings. I really liked the Stubbs and the citrus was pretty darn tasty also, ;)

These all sat for a hot second while I watched the Ravens receive a beat down from the Browns. No plated shots or libations as I cried in both and it wasn't very pretty, like the game.
Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a FAN TASTIC week!

Gene,
I could see how the salt from all your tears could throw the whole flavor profile off ... Nice call ;)

Seriously, well done, Sir!

I donated $ to someone in exchange for their recipes for the spice rubs - is not it the same as buy:)?
Those wings look perfectly Gene. It is expected that after using two other rubs the result will be similar to!?
I hope that everything is fine between us, Gene:confused:. I know you're a good fellow. I feel it;).

Mildo, I have to apologize. I shouldn't have punned your name. I also wasn't thinking when I posted in the throw down about the fattie challenge. It really wasn't my intent to take over control. I should've read the thread better and maybe let the last challenge winner know what my intent was, which was you after reading deeper into it. This all really started with a crappy reply from someone else on here but was my fault when I let my "tit for tat" take over, it just spilled out onto you. I should've just igmored the stupid comment by not replying with another stupid comment, or two. I can tell you are a good person also and again I apologize and wish you all the best in what you cook and whatever you do. Thanks for being understanding, in light of having to deal with a knuckle head once in awhile. :)

Gene, I actually did not say a word, i only copied the words of Chris.

I've seen your posts here and I must say that we all are very much alike. We cook on the Webers and we like to eat. And I must admit that all you here when present, was very edible.
Maybe I sometimes problematic type, but never on the TVWBB;).

Those are some nice looking wings!! I've been grilling for more than 30 years, and still haven't tried to do wings.

Fine looking wings Gene!!! How do you like the citrus rub. Of the three that one is my favorite on chicken.

Looks good Gene, may I ask about the citrus rub, did you use dried orange peel, we made it once, was very good at first, but as it aged the peel became bitter.

Yes we did use dried orange peel, also some dried lemon peel. Thanks for the heads up, I have many plans for it.
