Just picked up this beauty from Home Depot last night. I have always been a huge fan of the Weber line but was never much of a smoker. But fellow user (Tommy B) sold me quick on the WSM and I could not be more excited to fire it up this weekend.

I have never smoked anything before, so any tips of the trade that y'all are willing to share would be more than appreciated.

Hello from another Mississippian and new member!

I'm down in Hattiesburg, but spent four years up in Oxpatch. My nephew is up there now on the Reb's baseball team.

I've had an E-310 for about seven or eight years, and have recently purchased a OTG.
 
Welcome to the group William. Start adjusting vents before you get to the temp you want and allow 30 minutes or so for changes to take affect. Don't get hung up to much on temperatures.
