Grate replacement help for Weber SA-E-330?

Hello - The original 9mm stainless steel grates (#64645) that came with my Weber SA-E-330 (2022 model) are all rusted. This part is out of stock and on backorder. Weber customer service said that no other part will fit this grill. Does anyone know of another Weber stainless steel grate set or aftermarket alternative replacement grate set that will fit on this grill? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Those should never "rust" out. Put up some photos. My guess is you did not have stainless but cast iron

Thanks for your reply. Here is a photo. I just assumed it is stainless because when I looked up the serial number and part number (#35973401), the description said the grates were stainless.

for the lower grates, I would follow @Chris Allingham approach and use oven cleaner in a trash bag. They should clean up very well.

edit: skip ahead to the 3:30 mark.

Do you know if this will only remove food gunk, or can this “erase” the “rust” too?

My perspective for the question is that I usually use a wire wheel, which is a pain in the butt.

Could this chemical restore the shine instead?

I don't clean my grates very often. I used Chris's method when I was cleaning up my WSM 22 to sell and they looked marvelous afterwards.

Welcome to TVWBB Julie!
I agree with the other posts that a really thorough cleaning will put you right back in business. As was mentioned, the top warming tray may be another story.

I don't believe those grates are the higher grade 304 stainless, but even if 430 grade they should last for a long time. Ironically, the grease and burnt on carbon may actually have helped protect them!
