Grab your Weber Connect update

Just got an update on my Android phone for the Weber Connect App !! Includes an Firmware update for the SmokeFire grills !!!!! Is too cold outside now. Will update tomorrow evening.

Thanks for letting us know. Last night I read that the software was updated to version 4765. All of the software gets a little better- I hope.

Updated mine this morning. Just perusing through the app, I didn't really see anything that excited me, but I really won't know until I run a cook or two on it. Update went pretty smooth. I was hoping that the update would change the controller's nomenclature back to "Grill" as it was originally, but it's still showing "Barbeque". Not really a big deal, just very curious as to why it was changed in the first place.

YUP!! I got the Android app and the software (twice) updated but it's not offering me the firmware update yet. Eventually.

Hi Lew, same here. Updated to 1.6_4765. Then updated again to 1.6_4765c. Only shows up on screen as 1.6_4765 on the SF. I can't seem to get the firmware update either.....

So after the update and looking at the software version. Neither the SF nor the APP lists the last software update as 1.6_4765c just showing 1.6_4765.

Correct, only shows up as 1.6_4765. Were you able to update the Firmware ?

When it gets to 1.6_4766 it’s considered a Gen 3…lol

I seem to remember something similar to this on the first update that I got. It wouldn't show the update on the controller, but I don't remember what finally triggered it. Maybe it was running it through a cook, I don't recall. I'm throwing some turkey burgers on tonight, I'll see if mine changes, I'm still showing 04054 even though it said that it updated.

Good question. I've only read improvement generalizations from Weber. No mention of new features.

So I decided to smoke some London broil and chicken quarters for the weekend, even though it's snowing... I just checked for the firmware update , it's not showing up anymore ??? Looks like they pulled it back. Screenshot on the left was what I took when I posted the update was available, screenshot on the right is what's showing now on the app, no more mention of the newer firmware..... What's even weirder is that on one of their pages for Version History it shows 04068 but when you click on it it brings you to 04054

Mine went through both updates through the app, said everything was updated, controller lights flashed, but I'm still showing 04054 on the firmware, though I think that the app itself did update. No BFD, everything was and still works fine. I think that you're right, they pulled it back for some reason.

I tried several times over the last 2 days with no success. I dropped a ticket with Weber yesterday telling them about my attempts and “what am I doing wrong “. Waiting for a response.

I called yesterday also, but the guy had no idea what I was talking about. I have a feeling that the update was not pushing to our phones and that's why they pulled it. Doesn't make sense that none of us were able to update.. they must be watching this forum , now the page isn't even showing 04068

Weber CS replied to the ticket I dropped. The wording is interesting and still leaves us guessing as to what happened. We know that the release announcement for the app said that included a firmware update but apparently that part didn't work out for them. We wait for a firmware update.

But at this time the firmware update for the SmokeFire is still in development. As soon as it is perfected the update will roll out. So please be patient, as it will be coming out soon. That the Rep I spoke to yesterday , he said it will automatically update. When I told him it wasn't, he said keep trying. I guess they pulled it last night.
