Gonna Pick this up tomorrow

I have this:

And this:

It is not designed for indoor use and it does emit some smoke even while using in other cooking modes.
Gonna pick up that cover. In my cart now. And the seller said he MAY have used it twice. I am doubting he even turned it on. Everything is absolutely spotless (and not because it was cleaned). Even the little drip tray still has the original Ninja sticker inside it. I did not fire it up. But I think I did well

At first when I was considering this thing, I thought the heat source was singular as well. But, it also carries a large heating element in lid. So it does use fully heated convection so in some ways quite similar to a regular pellet grill.
Not sure how Ninja engineers work their magic but they build some darn good appliances. I.E., many are now raving about Ninja's new all in one coffee maker. Glowing about how such an appliance can do it all (espresso, pourover, drip, styles). Not necessarily my cup o' tea, but, they seem to pull rabbits outta their hats for everything they touch.
In any case plan is to give it a whirl tonight. I have a whole tenderloin I'm gonna cut some steaks from if the youngest, her partner and the kids all come over. If not the plan is I may do a piece of pork belly I have in the freezer (I get from Costco). They sell cleaned PB that is "sliced" about 2" thick. So I enjoy slapping one of those on the pellet grill letting it smoke for a while then cranking the heat up to about 375-400 and letting it get "crispy".
But, BFletch's results speak volumes as do every other test I've read and viewed on YT. So, I have high hopes.
I know it likely will not work as my pellet smokers do, but from what I've seen it does darn close. Stay tuned, keep the popcorn buckets filled.
My biggest challenge right now is managing to keep it close enough to a 20 amp outlet (as it does draw about 17-18 amps), (I bought a suitable 12ga extension cord at Menards yesterday), and I have a 30amp breaker line in the garage.
Once weather gets better I am going to install a 20amp outlet on my deck.
My other challenge is the thing is a bit too large for what I thought would be a good folding table for it. It sort of fits it but, the feet hang over the front and rear edge. I'm hoping not to have to invest in the Ninja stand. Close to $200 just for that! I did also order a cover for it. I'll post up some photos in a bit. Once I get outside

Hey, so BFletch since you own one of these, maybe a couple tips? First, I know NInja preaches the "company line" and "only use Ninja pellets", MEH I tried some of my Smokehouse 50/50 blend (oak/hickory). And they were pouring the smoke out nicely. But I turned it off once I ascertained operation. So are you using just off the shelf good quality pellets?
Secondly does the temperature you select to cook at change smoke output?
And last I guess, how long do you find a load of pellets lasting and do you find you can add to them when they're consumed on long cooks?
I honestly don't know anyone else with one. My brother is considering buying one for when he and his wife sell their house, move into a motor home and go about their "adventures" around the country

After using Ninja's sample bag a couple times I never used their brand again. I don't have a good reason as to why I'm not using the same pellets as what I use on the SF other than having read user reviews that led me to these pellets. I'm still burning through them:

I have never noticed the smoke output changing based on temperature. And as you know, the smoke box uses an igniter that is independent of the cook box heating elements. Having said that, the fan speed will vary based on temp and "coming up to temp" range, which may give an appearance of varying smoke output. At least I assume it is just the fan speed that gives the appearance of varying smoke output.

On my low temp smokes (225-275) I find that one load of pellets lasts ~40 minutes. It is common for me to use two loads in a typical smoke session. Pressing the Woodfire Flavor button during a smoke will trigger the igniter for additional loads of pellets you might add. Initially, I thought I could count on the residual pellets to catch the new load but I have not had much luck with that.

This unit cooks food much quicker. A rack of baby backs: ~2:45

Good luck!
