2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
3/4 cup Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa
2/3 cup unsifted flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate Chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350*F. Using a spoon, stir eggs with sugar and vanilla; add butter. Sift Sweet Ground Chocolate with flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into egg mixture; add nuts. Stir in chips. Spread into a greased 8" or 9" square pan. Bake 20-30 minutes. For extra chewy brownies, use 8" pan and less baking time. For cake-like brownies, use 9" pan and longer baking time. Cut into squares. Makes 16-20 brownies.

Finally was able to get the Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate & Cocoa to try this recipe. None of our local stores stocked it, and I had tried to order it from Walmart.com, but the seller (sold through Walmart's website, but not sold by Walmart) couldn't be bothered to actually ship the package after printing a USPS label for it(!) Cancelled that order after waiting two weeks, ordered it from Amazon and had the cocoa in five days from the date of ordering it. The cocoa seemed a bit pricey ($20 for 3 lbs), but I figured if others liked the recipe this much, we needed to try it.

Anyways, we gave this recipe a try, and I give it 👍👍(2 thumbs up).

The brownies came out ooey, gooey, and chewy, one couldn't ask for better.

Thanks for posting the recipe Chris!

One additional comment I would make. Despite the idea that nothing beats a warm brownie, you may want to let these brownies cool and even chill them in the refrigerator before cutting them. These brownies come out quite soft and can be difficult to cut well when warm. Of course, one could always warm up individual brownies in the microwave after cutting them for that the just-out-of-oven warmth.

I have bought their mix at Costco a couple times for those who are lazy like me. Have been quite good. I am sure the scratch is better.
