Gently double smoking a spiral ham for Christmas!

The menu is starting to shape up pretty well!
With the double smoked ham
Mashed potatoes Au Gratin
Hassleback sweet potatoes
Cheesy Broccoli casserole
Creamed pearl onions
The last Boonzaaijer dinner rolls
And the last Boonzaaijer Christmas cake (no Bûche de Nöel). I’m heartbroken about that but, I do understand the toll that 70 hour weeks will take on a small business owner.
They are still part of my family as far as I’m concerned!

And it was all delightful! One fist sized chunk of (Fruitawood) cherry, the back yard smelled incredible!
The mashed “AuGratin” needs a little more tweaking but, not bad.
Hassleback sweets? Freakishly good! Juice of four various oranges, butter, ”Shankeys Whip” (search your liquor store, interesting stuff) bourbon Maple syrup.
Tried a new broccoli casserole, Ree Drummond’s,finally someone that realizes any recipe that calls for Velveeta needs to use the whole silly brick! It was disgusting but delicious!
Creamed pearl onions…well, butter, cream, brandy? How can that go wrong?
Kerrygold butter on fluffy dinner rolls.
Finished off with wonderful coffee and cake!IMG_0871.jpeg

”God Bless us, everyone!”
Nightcap and I’m ready for sleep!
