That is a great looking two burner. One question: Did you paint the inside of the fire box?

Luckily I have a good friend who owns a Powder Coat shop. He sandblasted it then coated it with something that withstands temps up 1300°. There was absolutely nothing I could have done with it. It was a mess.

So, I am guessing he powder coated it with some high temp on the inside. I would just check with him to make sure that that stuff wont give off noxious fumes when heated. I am not well versed on Powder coating, but there are very few if any traditional paints that would safe to do on the inside of a grill.

Food safe. He does it for some resteraunts.

OH, that is great. Do you have an idea what he would charge for doing just the outside of a cook box with high temp Powder coat?

Bob, I am not looking for someone to do it really, just interested in what the price might be. I have a guy who sand blasts my cook boxes for me at his Powder coating outfit. I just never thought to ask him what it would cost for him to powder coat one with high temp PC. So, I am just looking out of curiosity really. I don't think it would be cost effective for rehabs.

I’m debating on powder coat for my cook box. Yours looks good. Has it been used yet? Any issues?
I let it run for 20 minutes the other day almost got to 600°. No issues. BTW, it's not Powder Coat. It's a food grade coating used for resteraunt kitchens that withstands temps up to 1300°.

Can you get some more info? We have a few powder coating outfits nearby. Thanks!

Yes, please share information on that, I’m going to have to get going on a rehab for my wife’s son pretty soon, rather farm that part out if I can. I’m feeling pretty sore after some brick work over the last few days and my loving wife wants me to tweak the patio (more brick work)

Happy wife, happy life....
