Genesis Platinum B/C

Tried straight vinegar and that made the difference. I am happy with the results.

Thanks, Larry, for the tip on the Vinegar.
Thanks, Bruce, for the spray on method, I liked that, for it allowed me concentrate on the area that needed cleaning.
Thanks, Cody, for the advice on the Scrub Daddys, they worked great, and they do an excellent job cleaning also.

I am thoroughly impressed with the scrub daddy line of products. I had one that I was using on a lid that was grey turned jet black. Soaked it in soapy water overnight and it looked brand new.

Grills are looking great! Still want to see the blue lid on the B with the SS tables and shelves 😃

You have the basis for a wonderful restoration. I believe that this was one of last "made in the USA" grills offered by Weber. The parts should still be available from several sources such as Grill Stuff. Good luck to you in your restoration efforts.
Thanks Kevin, and Welcome to the Forum!

Question Bruce?
Do you dye the OEM platinum shelf trim end caps black on most of your platinum builds?
Reason for asking I have 2 sets, and they do look as they can not be restored back to platinum, but maybe they can be dyed black. If you have done this, how do they turn out?

No, you really can't go backwards from what I understand. You have to start with a lighter colored piece and dye it darker.
