Genesis Platinum B/C

I literally soak all the plastics for days in a bleach, dawn and bar keepers friend solution. They come out looking good, then plastic brush them and rinse in hot water. Get a scrub daddy. They do wonders
Thanks Cody,
I received my Scrub Daddys today.
My 1st impression is that they are much thicker, larger, and sturdier then the HEB non scratch pad I used to clean the shelves with. They may even be a more aggressive pad. I think I may remove the RH swing out table and give it go with one of these.
I acquired more bleach also for I had run out.
Question: When making the soaking solution do you include Bar Keepers friend in the ingredients with the Dawn and Bleach to soak the shelves in.
The BKF I have is the bottle liquid type. I think most of you use the powdered form
@Cody Bratton What is the recipe?

Bruce,
When you soak your platinum shelves do you use BKF during or after they are soaked and scrubbed with bleach and dawn? What is your method. I would like to know that also if I could.

I don't really soak shelves. I have a spray bottle full of straight bleach. I spray them and keep them dam for about 2-3 minutes and then scrub them. For the SS inserts, I use some simple green to wet the panel, then sprinkle on some BKF and scrub them. I have been using the scrub daddy pads too for this and I like them. I am thinking about starting up another SS PLatinum soon.

Tried Bruce's spray on bleach method and I was able to get the swing-out shelf a little more white. Tried some BKF liquid on the ss and it cleaned up better but still has some haze. I did not wipe down with simple green as Bruce suggested so maybe that is where I went wrong. However, there is some improvement.

Try simple white vinegar on it. Maybe even partially dilute it. The haze looks a lot like a soap "scum" type stuff or even mineral deposits of hard water. Either way the vinegar should cut right through it

Thanks Larry. I tried 1/2 and 1/2 water to vinegar and it cleared up some. As you can see from the pic the left half is clearer than the right, but the right may be just the reflection of the dirty mat of the grill in front of it. When I flipped up the table is looked clearer, but I did not show a pic of that because you cannot tell with orientation of the sun.

You know Larry my city is under a boil water ban because water contamination from the current Texas floods going on around here. So, you may be right about mineral deposits in the water, and I think it does look like soap scum.
