Genesis Platinum B/C

Yah Larry. it does have the dropsies. At least on the right side anyway. But that is just an inconvenience. That is a great find and YES, that will clean up just fine.

I discovered something from working on those grills that I neglected to mention before. What tends to drop is the frame extension that those tables are attached to, and I've fixed it quite easily. Simply loosen the nut on the frame extension, lift the extension up and keep tension on it while retightening the bolt. It may not solve every problem, but it's made a big difference on the ones I've come across like that.

Steve, there are essentially identical structural wise to regular Silver/Gold grills. The frame extension have a bracket in them to hold them in the extension tube. For some reason, the welds on the SS grills seem to fail on that bracket where the regular steel frames don't normally have that problem.

Ok, now I get it. Well, if the weld isn't broken, doing what I suggested does succeed in evening the gap between the table and the frame upright.

I washed the top left shelf with dawn and hot water to gauge how to approach the shelves. It still has a stain to it. Do you all sand platinum shelves to get them pearly white or is it just because I did not use bleach?

On tables, I spray the bleach on and let it sit a while and spray it again, and do this several times and they get after it with a green scrubby.
I use pool bleach which is 2-3 times stronger than household bleach. I put it in a spray bottle.

On knobs and igniters and small stuff, I just let them soak in the straight bleach for a half hour and then clean them up. I don't mix it with Dawn, but I am sure that wouldn't hurt at worst and would maybe help some.

Thanks for the added info on the knobs. I washed those too and they did not come out to my satisfaction either. I wondered if the bleach would discolor them, but I could not remember how I once cleaned my platinum daily. Here is current pic of the knobs after a once over with dawn. I still need to remove the ignitor.
