Well at least that's what I'm calling it lol.
Just finishing this restoration. This grill was actually in great shape and it's against my better judgment to do a full breakdown repaint for something that doesn't need it but I wanted to do this color change from gray to blackout. I'm very happy with the end result. I used high heat paint on all of the metal and I used VHT high heat plastic paint on all of the plastic parts. Including table end caps, control panel end caps, wheels and knobs. Also painted the flames inside the sear burner knob red with my daughter's acrylic paint pen. I couldn't figure out how to download music to go with my video so I had to go low tech and play my garage stereo while I video the grill lol. Back in Black!

Watch the video. It does the grill justice better than pictures.

WOW!!! Love that blackout look. I am not a big fan of most stainless hood grills, but with your blackout look, that one now really pops! Good luck and hold your price. There is someone who will really go for that look (y) .

Thanks Jon I appreciate your support! I was just talking to @DanHoo about an older Genesis 330 that I did a while back and he showed me that others were doing similar custom paint jobs also and he showed me yours and someone else's I think it was a red and black one maybe Dave? Anyways I said I was planning on doing a blackout on one of my 330's I have lined up and I had no plans to do anything extravagant on this 345 it was just going to be an easy clean up and sell but that conversation inspired me to take this one up a notch.

If you look at the newest grills - the updated Spirits - they pretty much are using much of what Josh has done. They even have Lowe's "blackout editions."
Having owned several Genesis ii and also owning a current model Genesis I have to say the Genesis ii has much better build quality.

You are absolutely right Jon.

I was going to wait for the weather to get better but it looks like it's going to be raining here for at least a couple weeks so I just listed it.
