Genesis Gold Part 2

Looking good Steve! It seems our project completions are aligning with each other! I just have to screw some slats to Z bars, install the wheels and tank hanger, and decide on which lid it will be getting!

Something is going on with the side burner though. I did get it to fire up after several clicks but not at all after that. I'm not familiar at all with the igniter on these side burners but I will have to take it off and see if I can figure out what's wrong.IMG_20250427_093228112.jpg

Steve, first thing to do is to determine if it is "sparking" at the burner. Second thing to check is if it is still getting gas to the burner. That will narrow down your trouble shooting.

It's getting gas. I think this is the problem. It was loose and not positioned right. I'm assuming it's broken somehow but I would rather try and get it to stay in place than buy an igniter kit that I don't even know how to find.

I got creative and wired the piezo in place, now it fires up every time. If anyone knows of a replacement igniter kit for these side burners, let me know. I would still like to fix it the right way.

You wired the piezo or the electrode?
I wrapped wire around the insulator on the electrode and what is left of the little bracket that's supposed to hold it in place. I should have taken a picture of what I did but I already put the side burner back on and tested it. It fires up on the first click now but it's a bit of a hack job.

Yah, I have had many lids and control panels that were great aside from the fade. It is sooo disappointing. I have a lid on my current rehab that has a small area in the top front with the fade. Such as shame. I do know the grill was used very little too.
