Genesis 1000 series originally sold with green lids?

All of a sudden, my area is dropping green lids everywhere... I just picked up these up. Funny the broken hinge on the platinum is exactly the same as the Gold C that got me into this rabbit hole of Webers in the first place!

Guess there are so many of these green lids on x000s that at least some had to come from the factory..

FWIW, I just made a lid from an 02-03 Silver B appropriate for X000s by changing end caps. Debating now putting it on my dd little used 1000 which now has a red lid. Maybe change with the seasons......

Kind of like the red look better, and I should save the green lid to go with the big box of durawood I have in the basement, waiting for a suitable frame.

Love it the idea of seasonal swaps. I'm surprised that the green color doesn't look as "rich" as the red... maybe just the angle and less reflection.

Probably not a bad thing. At some point you got to stop collecting them and start restoring them.

I have been slowly chipping away at little stuff. Helping my brother with his slowed me down a bit but now that baseball season is over my free time has significantly increased. Plus my sandblaster is way behind schedule. Once I get a couple of the cook boxes back it will be game on.

That sounds like more fun than what I'm doing, refinishing my kitchen cabinets. When I'm done with this project I'm going to try and get another grill or two, I'll deserve it after this.
