Genesis 1000 Restore

I am in the process of restoring my Genesis 1000. I see where most say not to repaint the inside of the main body. What about the inside of the aluminum side panels on the hood. I will be repainting the sides since most of the paint has come off.

NO paint inside the grill. Also never paint the hood (either side)

Not neccessary Fred. the inside just needs wiping down from time to time as it gets a bit coated with grease and carbon from cooks.

Fred, simple answer is close the grill hood and then you can't paint everything else EXCEPT for the top of the hood. This includes the entire frame, the outside of the lower firebox and the outside of the endcaps.

The hood cleaned up real nice with 0000 steel wool and Simple Green. Still scraping paint off the side pieces. Couldn't tell if the inside of the sides were originally painted or not. But will only paint the outside. Smoke and grease will take care of the inside.
