general purpose butt rub

I'm getting ready to cook 8 butts for my girlfriend's work. They are having a customer appreciation day and doing pulled pork sandwiches. I need a good all around rub to use. I don't want anything too spicy or too sweet. Kinda need to appeal to everyone. Do any of you have any suggestions?
 
Use Alton Brown's 8-3-1-1.
8 parts brown sugar
3 parts salt (usually kosher or sea)
1 part chili powder
1 part what ever else you feel like(this can also be different things mixed)
 
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp sea salt
2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon cayenne

I use it all the time on butts. No sauce just this rub. If your worried about heat reduce cayenne to just a pinch.

I use the BRITU rub on just about everything including pork and even deviled eggs. It's easy to make large batches and store in vacuum bags.

i use this all the time. Very basic , very easy. Lets the meat shine thru
