FS 1999 Weber Genesis 1000 - Red, Good Restoration Candidate

Happily grilling since 1999 when we received this grill as a wedding gift. Well we are retiring this grill for a larger, natural gas grill.

This bright red Weber works great. All the inner bits, burners, flavorizer bars, and cooking grates are relatively new and stainless steel. Very little rust on the frame. The wood on the side can use replacement but works well enough for now. Also includes extra set of burners, warming racks, and flavorizer bars. The flavorizer bars usually don’t burn out all at once so the spares will definitely be useful in time. Located in the northern Kentucky area just south of Cincinnati. Cover included. Does not include the LP tank.

That's great! I received my 1998 as a wedding present and still have it. I'm sure someone will be happy to take it off your hands. I have a question for you, is that the tank scale/holder that came with that grill or did you replace it somewhere along the line? Just a silly technical question.

That’s the same scale as my ‘97 redhead.

I was just wondering because I have a 97 and a 98, they both have the pointer style scales with the fuel sticker on the frame. I was pretty sure they didn't use that style until the Silver series came out in 2000.

Yep. That scale is original. Had to upgrade the LP connector as it had the quick disconnect type originally.

I am with you Steve. I always thought the pointer style was used all the way up until the Silver/Gold B and C grills came out in 2000.

My dad bought it new. The only thing that’s ever been replaced on it is the regulator, by me about two years ago

That's really interesting, do you by any chance still have the owner's manual? Mine clearly shows the pointer style tank scale. I'm just trying to document any differences. Pictures of your grill and the owners manual are greatly appreciated.
