WI finally got around to cooking my Thanksgiving turkey on the WSM. About an hour into the cook I thought I'd insert my Taylor probe. Hmm. Already reading 155 and I just pulled it out of the drawer. Gotta talk to my wife about bumping up the heat in the house!

Looks like the probe is shot. Sometimes I get a reasonable reading, sometimes it's way off. Looks like I'm in the market for a new probe.

Something you might try to get you by til you get a new one is to lick the probe connecter. Not a big sloppy lick, but just moisten it a bit and reinsert. I got several months extra use out of one doing that every once in a while.

I've had great luck with the Taylors and recently bought two more. I have ruined two of them but they were both my fault. Melted one on the side of WSM and dropped the lid on my big offset on the cable of the other.
