Found Free Silver B

Sorry for going off topic, but here are pics of the Platinum trim ends in the event anyone was wondering their condition. I washed them with bleach and Dawn. They are very chalky and have lost their luster probably from the heat.

I won't be using these on the Silver B though. The RHS is not what is needed if one was to apply it.

You are saying the RHS (right hand side) wont fit on the platinum? But it would fit on the silver B?
The trim probably will fit on both, but the Silver B has the control panel on the right side and the Platinum RHS trim is designed for a curved worktable that extends over the front of the frame on the right of a Platinum C.

Ahhh, I gotcha. Those ends do look a little rough. If I end up painting mine, I will try and do a little write up on it. Knowing a couple of the products I have used in the automotive field on plastic, should work on those plastics gives me some confidence that a relatively small amount of work should be able to make them look new again.

I would try painting them with Krylon Fusion.

I think others have mentioned the product SEM Trim Black on here. I would strongly recommend any SEM products from my experience within the auto industry. I would think since the end handles are far enough away from the main heat source, that it should be fine. That being said, SEM is designed to have the UV resistance, and resist salt and other road-borne challenges in a low sheen product. I have used it MANY times on vehicles.

There is a video at the bottom of the page that shows how they recommend prepping and such. Worth a quick watch. I know it isn't a cheap product by any means. I would also strongly recommend the adhesion promoter. It helps resist scratching and peeling.

**I do NOT work for of have any affiliation with SEM** - figured a disclaimer may be wise here, lol

Looks like a very good option!

That was an earlier Skyline. My blackout has been sitting in my garage all winter. Trying to decide whether to list soon or just keep it.

I used Krylon Fusion on my Summit knobs, and they have done well for two years of regular use, but the original color was similar. On that earlier Skyline, I had to paint the side burner knob black from light gray. Last time I saw it, the gray was starting to show through, but that has been about 6 years.

Jon, I would consider listing it for the next couple weeks. My daughter has been doing well selling phones and service at her AT&T Wireless store the last week with many customers citing tax refunds. Weather should support that as well. Give it a couple weeks maybe. You can always pull it again until mid April or May.

Tax returns and the weather starting to get a little bit better around here is why I started posting and it has paid off. My last listing sold in three days. That's usually about the longest. I try to price them to sell within a few days.
