I found a copy of the Weber 1973 product catalog in very nice condition. This looks to be the exct same one that Chris has scanned at the top of this Weber Grills & Accessories forum. Here's a picture of a vintage Weber Roast Stand (H) $7.95 on top of the page that it's listed on. When I bought this with a bunch of other Weber accessories that were NIB I didn't realize that this was a Weber product (it's not marked Weber) until Chris placed the catalog pictures here. Anyone else have or have ever seen a Weber Roast Stand?

Todd, on the cover, left to right, looks like former Governor of Wisconsin, Tommy Thompson (ugly blue-purple shirt)...
former Green Bay Packer receiver Max McGee (holding book)...
and former Chicago Bear Dick Butkus linebacker (white belt, red slacks).
(the two dudes in the background too far away to recognize).

Nice Find!!

I am pretty sure the fellow in that ugly purple-blue shirt is none other than George Stephan himself.......

compare the likeness:

if you scroll down to the 1960's section they show all these imaginative grills they have come up with over the years!!

Yes it is, I read that somewhere else a while ago too.

Jim, I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure the pictured are George Stephan, Alan Page, Carl Eller, Gary Larsen and Jim Marshall if I'm not mistaken.

As cool and retro as that roast stand is, I would have some reservations using it though.

First off, you have to pierce the meat with the three posts.

I figure it would let some juices run out..especially since it is a vertical stand........

No plans to use it as it was designed, just a cool Weber relic from the past.

When I first got this catalog, I sent a copy of the cover to the Weber PR department, asking if they could identify anyone in the photo.

George Stephen is the one in the purple shirt holding the peppermill. Mike Kempster is standing way in the back in the short-sleeved shirt.

The others? We just don't know...

Regards,
Chris
