For the aviation nuts

I was on my home home tonight with Indian take-out, and just had to stop and take these. This is at a tiny little grass strip out here in the middle of nowhere, with a few sail planes and some light private craft.

This gent had a young'un in the forward cockpit, and was just taxiing, never even lifted the tail wheel before he went back to the hangar.

I've got a bunch of good shots of T6 Texans, and I had the opportunity to get up close while they were parked & fueling. I'll cherry pick a couple of those and upload 'em.

Okay. Texans. This was a flight on a hundred dollar hamburger mission. Okay, I'm sure it cost them a lot more than that. This is from 8 years ago (HOLY COW.....) at Antrim County Airfield, MI.

I don't think these folks could have picked a nicer day, and they were having a blast. Gorgeous aircraft.

Built a few homes in Aero Estates in Naperville back in the early 80's.
Houses were backed up to a runway and the garage for the cars was in the front but they had separate attached hangers in the back for planes.
Most were executives that flew downtown to Megs field before junior bulldozed it.
It was kind of cool working there and seeing all the different planes come in and out.

I knew a couple UAL captains that lived there
