Fishing over the weekend.

I was able to get away from Sunday until Wednesday this week. Went up north fishing, the season is early so some species still not ready to be fished.
I took the jumbo Joe up for the cooking. Did burgers, sausages, 2 picanha roasts at the same time with some smoke. It was a pretty big hit with the other guests....
The jumbo is a little unique, only cooked maybe 4 times total on it now. If you just have a medium fire on it and it will look like it's not hot at all, you can get it red hot in a matter of a few minutes, the same goes for cool down, works pretty good too. And the burn out when the food is done, cools off in record times.
I like it, just need to get used to it for sure. Limited room makes me use a temp probe a lot less for sure, so the guessing is my game now. The kettle that I love is what I am used to and know how it works very well, I don't want to start getting confused now....
Anyways the weather was perfect....no rain, cool nights and about 70 - 75 while I as there.
Caught a few nice fish and I have a few pics I wanted to share.
I'm not sure if these are native too far south so if you want to know what they are just ask.
Thanks for looking.

Looks like it was worth the trip for sure.
When I first got my JJ It was a little bit of a challenge to get used to it vs. my performer. But when I did get it dialed in it was my go to grill for Barb and I.

Tiger Musky ? Or just Musky ? Makes that largemouth look puny.

That had to be a lot of fun on the end of a fishin rod.
That Musky is the tiger type......
It was about 30 inches or so, the scale on the boat only measured up to 24. I also had no weight scale but it was between 15 and 20 pounds I believe.
That large mouth was tiny in comparison....but the best one I could get in the boat....about 1.5 pounds.
Normally I fish for northern pike......but it's been a while since I had a 30 inch fish on the end.
10 pound braid power pro and it felt like a nice fish, then it got close bent the rod right over and started pulling out my drag.....
It was a fun fight, might go back in a month to see if all his friends want to party on the boat too......

Nice looking fish you caught there Darryl, where up north did you go fishing .
I was fishing on Pigeon lake. It is mid Ontario, a few hours south of Algonquin Park.
With less time on the water last year it really did feel good to get out and spend some relaxing time on the water.
I don't even know why I golf because this was 1000 times more relaxing than getting mad at everything I do on the course.

Yeah that bbq reacts super fast to any changes...
I had some seriously darkening happening with burgers and within 5 minutes everything was under control.
Much faster than the performer......I miss that performer though, it's only been 5 days since I used it but I am going to use it tonight with the vortex and some tasty jumbo wings. It may sound silly but I use the E6 strictly for smoking ( so far anyways ) and the performer is like a wizard, it does everything and anything I want it to and I just need to use this JJ a bit more, I like it but hard to cook for a lot of people on it.

I am sooo jealous. I love fishing. Don't remember if I posted this story, but one year DH and I rented a house boat on this river. One day I wanted to watch TV, so I just opened a window, stuck out my fishing pole and laid back and watched my show Talk about relaxing LOL. That was a fun trip. My happiest days on week-ends/vacations have been ones where we go fishing.
