I got the WSM on Friday afternoon and was smoking on Saturday. I took it to my buddies house and we threw on 4 slabs of Spare Ribs. I used a full bag of Kingsford. Cooked at 230 for about 5 hours. Got rave reviews. I used a store bought rub from Famous Daves on two, and a recipe from the internet that sounded good. Most of the folks liked the internet recipe.
I was surprised at how "cheap" the door seems, and it does not fit snugly on the cooker. I was afraid that the temps would spike, and they did a little here and there. Not sure if it was due to new coals being lit or if it was there was additional airflow into the unit. They didnt get too far out of control for too long, but I had to keep my eye on it. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated!!!
I also bought and used the CyberQ Wifi. It worked very well and it was cool to be able to control the device from my iPad/iPhone.
