First Smoke in the torrential rain

Hi all,
Today was my first smoke in the 22 WSM. Not pretty day to be doing this.
Did it under a market Umbrella.

Beer can chickens, high heat.
Royal Oak lump. Full open, no water in the pan.
Lit the standard method. Added a full chimney of unlit, maybe a little more to the first lit batch.
As soon as I put the chickens on the rain started dumping.
on at 5pm. WSM at 315 degrees
off at 6:30 at 345 degrees.

The wind kept the temps down in the beginning. It was interesting to how much the wind effected the temps. It would gust and you could watch the temp drop. Glad the wind quieted down.
Used a modified Smack Your Daddy Rub. It was moist really tasty chicken. The skin was quite good, almost crispy. Everyone loved it. My in-laws said, "it was so good they might stay another day". Crap!

Despite the lousy weather it was a fun cook.

Fire it up.

It's a drag Q'ing in the rain, but you did just fine. Love the chicken. btw, next time, unless you have any questions, just post your pics and experience in the PHOTO GALLERY section. More folks might see it. Cheers!

All that trouble during a first smoke -- and then the pics don't cooperate. Doesn't matter -- the results look great. Congrats!
