Today was my first cook with lump charcoal -- and it was wonderful. After the disappointing previous results with the new Kingsford charcoal using the BBQ Guru for automatic temperature control, I decided to try a high quality lump.
I was able to find a source for Wicked Good Weekend Warrior and it worked out extremely well. I cooked a rack of St. Louis style ribs and the WGWW provided rock steady temperatures. Best ribs yet. The BBQ Guru had a lot easier time keeping the temperature at the desired set point than the previous outing with the new Kingsford. I used the Minion Method to ingnite the lump using 16 briquetts of the new Kingsford. I am a beleiever and will use lump from now on.
