First gas grill ever - need some advise on repairs and restoration

Yes it always pays to be honest.
What did you mean by you attached it with 2x4s.
 
I cut 2 short pieces for the front sides and 1 longer piece against the back. I drilled holes along the back and sides into the wood, and screwed it in. While still up on the saw horses, I placed the cabinet where it went on the base and had my wife help make sure it did not fall on me. I then got under and drilled the holes and screwed into the bottom to attach the base to the 2x4s. If you look at the picture you can just see the 2 front pieces of wood (they are painted). There is a longer one along the back. I wish I took a picture without the tank.
