Finally got a WSM.

Hey guys, I finally picked up a WSM today. I had been searching CL for a few months and came across an 18.5" last night. It has only been cooked on four times and I gave $175 for it. I have a lot of hobbies (gun collecting, shooting, fishing, boating) and wasn't sure I wanted to drop $300/$400 on a smoker if I didn't know if I would "get into" the hobby. So I am very happy with my find.

Now I have to find some thermometers and do a few mods. And maybe look into a temp controller in the future. Glad to be here guys! I know I'll learn a lot.
 
Congrats on the new smoker. Lots of info here and lots of good recipes for food and rubs an the like. Your going to love the food coming off it.

Welcome to the site!!!! I`ll have to come visit when I see my daughter in Nashville..LOL

There are lots of mod ideas on this site. Prepare to get hooked into another hobby and welcome aboard.
 
Just south of you here in Huntsville AL. Welcome aboard -- great CL find. I guarantee you can make better BBQ at home than you can pick up at Whitt's.
 
J, you already like the outdoors it looks like so you'll be hooked on smoking as well. Great find and welcome to the best site on the web.
