Finally found the thermometer I've been looking for.

Well close to it anyways. I use a dial and probe type candy thermometer. My original, which I have been using since I got my WSM has been bent and dropped multiple times. As a result it has been sticking. I've been looking all over for a replacement for a long time. The only thermometers I could find near me were meat and the floating type candy ones. Except for the foot long ones at Lowes and Home Depot. I found this one at a little store in Manchester Vt. An inch longer than my old one, but it will work.

I had one digital in the past, when I first got into smoking. Got it at Bed Bath & Beyond for $20, not sure of the brand. Was using it for meat temps, not smoker temp. Left it out one night when it was below freezing and it stopped working. So I am leery of them. Plus in these financial times I really didn't want to drop $40 on a thermometer. For some reason dial type candy/oil thermometers are hard to find now a days. By the way, the I just got is for smoker temp. Forgot to mention that.
