When Weber replaced my Smokefire Sear+ with a Searwood, they did it dollar for dollar. With the Searwood being much less expensive than the Sear+, they allowed me to get accessories to make up the difference. One of the things I got was the griddle. It's been in the box since I got it, but I spent the last few days seasoning it up on the Genesis and finally used it tonight. Started with some bacon, then onto onions and finally the smash burgers. I don't have a proper 'smasher', but used a small pot with parchment paper. A couple triples for the kids and a double for me and the wife. I didn't nail them by any stretch, but they were still very good. I just kept the griddle on the Genesis for this session, but will ultimately move to the Searwood for these. Already looking forward to my next griddle session.
Bacon sizzling:
Onions going and getting close:

Burgers on. Smashing needs a little work, but this will do for attempt #1

Final product, a double for me with lettuce, onions, pickles, ketchup, mayo and American cheese.

The griddle is not a cheap accessory. But at ~20lbs, it is rock solid and should last well beyond me if I take care of it. I'll be interested to see what the drip pan looks like tomorrow after this session, but I really enjoyed using it.
Happy Father's Day to all the father figures out there.
