Yeah! I took a drive to Milwaukee's largest Hispanic grocery store, El Rey to pick up some stuff for this weekend's cooking.
While i was loading 20 nice limes (for a buck) in my bag, I noticed an elder gentleman stacking nopales like roof shingles. And my eyes lit up!
I only bought two, wish i woulda bought many more. Cleaned and seasoned like John does, a little EVOO, S&P a a touch of granulated Gaaaaalic.
Also picked up some poblano peppers (.88¢ lb). Anyway, going to make an El Rey run AT LEAST once a month now.
OK, got the beef seasoned
Baby Yukons strung up
everything ready to go on the large 26" OTG
too busy yappin' to take more/better photos...
The nopales were grilled about 4 to 5 minutes each side, then sliced and served with the poblanos.
Broccoli was a stand by in case liz did not like the nopales
I must thank John Solak (and this forum) for introducing me to nopales. I will have these many more times.
And I thank you all for visiting!
Enjoy your weekend! ¡Buen provecho!
