Electronic Thermometer Advice

Been using a cheap analog instant-read thermometer for many years, but I see that many of you use electronic thermometers with wire probes for long cooks / smokes. What would you recommend for me if I decide to purchase one?

Thanks.

Ive been using a maverick. One probe for the meat, one for the grill. Lets you set alarms for hi/low. I havent done a boiling water test on it, but it seems pretty accurate to me

I have a Maverick 731 & 732. The 732 is better, imho. It's easier to turn off / on & it handles higher temperatures.

If you're only going to buy one, buy a Thermopen. If you can swing two, get the Maverick 732 also. Thermopen is having an open box sale.

Any advice on a probe(s)?

The Dot looks viable, but I assume it only works with one probe?

Thanks for the link, Chris.
