Doing my first pulled pork

Let's see how this turns out. It's a 4-1/2. Lb boneless pork shoulder. Using the fuse method for the charcoal. The grill just got up to temp. Here's a pic when I put it on.

You and I both. She's holding steady for the past hour or so at a 275 dome temp looks like I'm doing something right

Two hours in. Fuel seems to be burning a little faster than I thought. I may have to end up adding charcoal.

I did 2x2x1 about 3/4 of the way around the grill. It is about 10 degrees out so that may explain it.

That's what I figured I would have to do. Snake is a little less than half gone and I'm almost 3 hours in. I'll need 8-10 hours to fully cook this thing

Well I wanted to take a peak at the water pan and add the coals and rotate the grate at the same time. It's 3-1/2 hours and looking great. Photo bucket is doing maintenance so the pic will have to wait.

One question, at what point will it start getting that dark color, it's looking golden brown now.

7 hours in and it's at 150. Must be in the "stall" I planned on it taking 9 hours so we will see if that works out. If it goes longer than that I'll have to add more charcoal again.

I rubbed the butt in the pan and then just filled it up with water so that's just left over rub.

8-1/2 hrs and sitting at 170

Still lookin good. Great idea to use the same pan you rubbed the butt in as the water pan. Stick with it. You'll be rewarded. Don't look too much -- let it cook.
