Does anyone have any info on this?!?!? 22" Stealth Kettle

Hey there Bruno!

The Stealth Kettle is one of the upcoming new models in our Stealth grill lineup.

It features:
  • New black wheels
  • New black legs
  • New black open ash catcher
  • New black One-Touch Cleaning System handle with red sleeve
  • New black bowl handle w/tool hooks
  • New black lid handle w/black heat shield
  • New black lid damper w/damper handle (like the on one Summit Kamados)
  • New black lid thermometer & bezel
  • New lid and bowl with matte black porcelain enamel (not paint!).

Now that the stealth has hit the shelves, can you give us any ideas about the next Kettle scheduled to come out? Heard a lot of buzz about it, but no one has anything concrete aside from "in a few months".

Um… You’re asking the Colonel Sanders for his recipe

As much as I'd love to start gushing about our next Kettle offering, we're still at the stage where I'm not able to divulge much just yet. It'll have a very unique appearance, and it will have a design feature we haven't had on kettles sold in the US in about 25 years. Aside from that, all i can say is that it'll be coming in a few months. We're getting closer though!

Woots! That's more info than we had yesterday! Thanks John, much appreciated.

As cool as it would be, nope.

Robert Stephen, who still works at Weber, said his dad moved away from the design because it just wasn't very consumer friendly.

There's no ash catcher, so it's a bit of a fire hazard. The legs won't pass our tip testing requirements. It's not easy to move (although you can say the same about SMCs). It was designed as a steak cooking machine, so the lid is quite shallow, meaning you can't do larger roasting foods on it. It only had one offset bowl vent, so there are airflow issues. The lid handle design doesn't comply with EU standards. It's very short (only 26" from the ground to the cooking grate surface).

It's a wonderful unit from a historical perspective, but aside from the occasional replica grill we make of these, we're unlikely to ever make more that we'd feel comfortable selling as a cookable unit.

The only thing I can think of are back to wood handles and/or grate style coal baskets instead of the stamped metal baskets. That's my only shot. lol Oh, maybe the paint that got really dark at the bottom of the kettle lid when it gets hot?

I know you can't say anything but I'm guessing it'll be a kettle with the ash catcher like the Premiums (which I loath) and it'll have the three vents in the bowl like in the 70's bringing back easy smoking to the kettles. I'd be all over a new kettle with the smoker vents again

I can get a pseudo type smoke with my performer.......
I mean it does the job okay but not something you would want to try to show off or go in a competition with or anything.
I usually just go that diecton with a smaller cut like say a tri tip as the cook on it is relatively short....I can still pick up some smoke flavour with out it being cooked on a smoker.

You've only gone and fixed the dreaded WWWS - [Weber Wobbly Wheel Syndrome].....haven't you? ;)
