Disgruntled neighbors


 
Drew, if you haven't already done so it might be a good idea to be preemptive and contact the HOA about the situation. If it's been dealt with before there might be some info about getting things resolved. Good luck!

When lighting a chimney of coals i'd probably move away from the building as far as possible. Also, i'd keep my grill/smoker as far away as you are comfortable with to avoid smoking them out.

Since you live in a condo/apt. situation, you need to be a little more respectful of everyone around you. Don't just give up the smoker/grill, but just be sure to keep them in mind when letting the smoke fly.

Like my father always said: "Don't let your good time ruin another person's good time".

I would probably go talk to them and tell them you usually grill X amount of times per month and if they would like a heads up before you fire up your grill, you'd be happy to let them know.
