I came across a free N series 22.5" OTS -- avocado green with wood handles, thermo in the handle and lid holder bale. The bowl and lid look decent aside from the usual rust spots at the welds, however the internals are a mess and the ash catcher is pretty beat up. Did I need another 22.5, no but it was free and green and no one seems to be giving away 26.75's in any color that I have been able to find. That is what I told my wife and I am sticking to that story.
So I put together a shopping cart on Amazon for the parts I would need to get it ready to cook and looking decent. The cart total was nearly $70. This got me to thinking -- was it really worth $70 for another 22.5 (I already have 2)? Even though it is a color other than black what else does it have going for it to make it worth the money?
Now that I am second guessing this acquisition I came up with the following options (and there may be others) and would be curious to your thoughts and experiences. No particular order just how they came to me.

- Clean it up and make it look half-way decent and put it on CL and see if anyone bites. Do I want to profit from someone else's generosity?
- Make my 2009/10 OTS a donor for the parts sans the thermo. Not sure I want to cannibalize my first Weber.
- Take $70 plus a little extra and buy a NIB 22.5 OTG that I have a lead on. It's brand new (black) and has the upgraded ash catcher, and trigger option 1 to offset the expense and grief I am sure to get from YKW. I could also then sell my original OTS to further offset the expense.
- Proceed to checkout on Amazon and enjoy my refurbished avocado green 22.5 that I got for free.
