Cracked Cookbox Opinions

I'd find a donor and scrap that cookbox, but that wasn't what you asked.

for a personal grill, maybe it could be reinforced. Safety of the lid falling off would be my concern.

I don't think cook quality will matter much. You could fill it with high temp JB weld, or wedge a small amount of aluminum foil to fill the crack.

I agree with the other assessments. I don't think that one will last with regular use. You will just need to baby it for now.

I am also interested in which grill this is.

If not under warranty for whatever reason, you could reinforce that perhaps with angle stock and either rivets or small machine screws and nuts. Obviously replacement is optimal

I think Weber will cover that. The cast aluminum on the side seems pretty thin to me. The newest Genesis model has even thinner aluminum:(.

Yep, I would definitely call Weber C/S. They will likely cover it. If not, you only lose a few minutes of time.
