Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a competition team, Grate Expectations. Last weekend was the 2nd Annual Cowtown Cook-off in Miles City, MT. We cook on two 22" WSM's. There were few, if any, other teams with WSM's. It was a well run event and one of three state championships in Montana.
There were some good teams there including Parrothead Smokers and Lonestar Smoke Rangers from SD that have been winning the championships in MT the last few years.
This was our fourth competition. We ended up with 2nd chicken, 4th brisket, 1st pork (180), and the Grand Champion. Jo Bawbs BBQ was RGC.
My wife and I bought my brother-in-law (also a teammate) an 18" WSM with some of the winnings which we'll give to him at our next competition this coming weekend. He's been wanting one since we started doing comps.
Next up is the Montana BBQ Cook-off in Absarokee, MT over the 4th.
