Converting a Genesis sidewinder from NG to Propane - How to?

I would agree, if possible run NG and you'll be very happy with it.

Converting it to LP needs:
  • LP manifold, or LP Valves ( not just orifices)
  • LP hose with regulator
  • tank hanger / scale
This is the part for the manifold, yet it is out of stock at this seller.

A tank hanger on the outside will be easier than stuffing the tank on the inside. I did this on my front control E330 but I've seen it done on side control E3xx also

@DanHoo Hi DanHoo I am thinking out boarding a propane tank on a grill like yours.

How did you route the propane hose assembly? I don’t see a factory hose access hole on this grill in the cabinet panels.

Thank you

edit2: This thread started out as a side control Genesis 300s and @BPratt and I are talking about front control Genesis 300s. A side control is even easier to move to the outside because the manifold is under the RH side table to start with. /edit2

edit: I didn't drill any holes. I moved the hardline to the LP supply mount to the outside and used a tank hanger /scale from a Silver B

I suppose I could have cut a hole and routed it lower, away from the cookbox but this works without cutting.

this pic is a 2016 E330

@DanHoo Thank you. I don’t see any issues with interference or aesthetics. Better to have the tank on the outside.

First one I did everything was installed and it was a little tricky getting the steel flex line to the outside, because of the connector on the end

If you temporarily remove the RH cookbox bolt you can slightly lift the cookbox for clearance. Not necessary but it might save a few mins time.

Edit: just again mentioning this reply is for a front control 300 series, not a side control as the original post started.

If it tests ok and I don’t see showstoppers I will at least pull off the front panel and the manifold. At that point I should be able to snake the stainless line through to the outside.

I pulled off the back panel and snaked the line to the outside without any trouble.

I put a universal tank scale from a Spirit II on that has tank gauge stickers on both sides
