If you know the thread referenced in this thread title, cool. if not, long story short, I wound up w/an 18.5" Budlight OTS after not having grilled over charcoal for many moons. Here is my first cook on it...

First cook on my 18.5 Budlight OTS

Quick overview. It's been more than a couple years since I've grilled w/o gas. Won't waste your time w/backstory, but I recently got an 18.5” Budlight OTS off craigslist.

I'm trying to eat more healthy, so this cook involves top round steaks and potatoes topped w/fat free options.

Here it is just before firing up..had to do a beer shot..

Potatoes going on

Steaks where brushed w/olive oil then dusted w/onion powder, garlic powder, sage and pepper on both sides

Steaks going on

Rain was heading my way, so I had to ramp up the cook times. Didn't have time to do a reverse sear on the steaks or slow cook the taters. Did a safe cook for each. Steak has no sear marks, taters were mashed w/chives, sour cream, cheese and butter after taking off grill.

Final plate

Bill, I have always slow cooked round steak to avoid toughness. So I have to ask, how was it grilled? It looks good.
Should I try this?
