Cody's Corner of Random Rehabbing & Shenanigans

I have more than I need but if a really nice first or second generation Genesis comes up for sale I may grab it. Probably only interested in a Genesis Jr. Or Genesis 1000 in excellent condition. Maybe another if it has a desirable lid. 1985-1999. I don't have any interest in picking up any Weber after that time period.
I like it. Stick to your guns.

What on that frame is bad? I would be interested to see what bad is on a frame in your neck of the woods.

That one traveled up to me from California. Seller moved to Washington and brought it with them. The left side crossmember that bolts to the Cook box was rusted out pretty bad. The rest of the frame had treatable surface rust but that Grill was in rough shape all the way around except for the lid which is what I wanted it for. Lucky It was perfect

It does make an excellent stand for the Q. That being said, the Q100 legs fit perfectly inside the frame of a silver a.

I just have it for temporary use. I plan on taking it apart and probably repurposing all the z-metal and flip tables. I had forgotten where my extra right side slide flip table assembly was at.

Scrap guy called and told me he had a newer Weber. I went to check it out. IMG_0380.jpeg

I didn’t take the whole thing. But snagged the lid and doors, because I have a black one with bad fade. Didn’t realize that it was an LX. But stole a bunch of what I could. I don’t think it was used more than a dozen times.

I wonder if the manifolds are the same or not. They sure look it.

@Josh Dekubber I know you have some experience with these. Do you know of the internals are interchangeable?

Looks like only the firebox is busted up really. If I was doing refurbs like you guys I think I'd have grabbed the whole thing and taken time to dispose of the scrap at my leisure

If you can go back and grab it I would. Alot of it is different and a nice step up from other models. You could make a fantastic grill out of that to keep or sell. Whatever it needs could come from a lower model.

The LX lid is a little taller than other models but it should still fit fine.

Valves are different. If you use the valves you would need the control panel with the labeling around the knobs from the LX also because all the valves have high+Sear for each burner unlike other models.

I can tell from the picture it's an LP grill in case you weren't sure.

I have the control panel. The one I have also has a sideburner. The left side table was smashed. I got the burners heat deflectors and SS grates too as they looked damn near new.

You didn't grab the manifold? I would guess that and the control panel would have been the 'grail' parts of that grill to convert any similar model into an LX.
