Went for a 2 hour bike ride and critter hunt this morning thru South Park (local county park) with the wife and both lil rug rats .... When we got home everyone was starving... Good thing all the prep work was done by 6 am this morning .....
Rick Bayless Roadside chicken....
I like to use the spritz/rub as a marinade
Spatchcocked birdy
Time for a lil bath...
May as well cook a few burgers as well...
Seasoned with worchestshire and weber steak and chop
Gonna cook up a few zucchini (Evoo s/p), sweet potato (par boiled , cut into spears and Evoo/ACV/chipotle/cinnamon) and two extra jalapeños that were just there..
First time using the WSM as a grill.thanks all for previous advice on this.. After a bit, Got temps up to 350 with little effort. All vents wide open...gently introducing everyone to transition from gasser to charcoal only cookin this summer (they just don't know it yet)
Decided to do dark meat and burgers on charcoal then the breasts and veggie on the gasser later tonight...
Cheeseburger with some pickles and spicy brown mustard for me wife and 5 yr old, but 7 yr old puts bbq sauce on almost everything
Roadside chicken, this is becoming my go to cx recipe when I want to switch things up a bit
Everything was really good... Got two thumbs up from both the lil yinzers on their burgers and chicken legs...
Lookin forward to the rest of the Pens game and the Bucco game today while doing a lil more cookin on the ole gasser later on...and 1 or 2 of these. Maxwells Scottish ale
Brewed and canned in Export, PA
Thanks for lookin n'at
A perfect Sunday...
