chuck rub

I'm doing a chuck roast (for pulling) tomorrow...just wondering if anyone has a good, simple rub--maybe something different than the typical butt or rib rub?

I thought to just rub it with salt and pepper and a little olive oil but don't know what propoertion, or even if something that simple will stand up to the meat.

Kevin-you are always miles ahead. I would never have thought of this combination for beef. Thanks for pulling us along.
 
Steve, I've used Kevin's quatre-épices rub from the link that he gave. It's perfect for the chuck.
