Chicken seasoned to perfection

It was 62* here yesterday, and my wife treats me right. I got home from work, and she had pulled a chicken from the freezer cause she knew I'd love to be outside grilling!
Halved it up, rubbed it with garlic salt, onion powder, pepper, and lemon pepper. Half with toothpick was rubbed with olive oil. Doing a little experiment to see how skin would come out different.

Got the performer cruising at 450* and threw the halves on indirect, skin up. 1 hour later they were to temp, and I rotated and stood them on their sides direct to crisp up a few spots.

Plated with roasted veggies my wife did in the oven and then melted grated parmesan. And brown rice. My plate of dark meat, and her plate of breast meat.

Olive Oil made the chicken a little more wet, but that may be because it wasn't direct very long. Seasoning was perfect though! Never used these proportions, but loved it. Skin was crisp and peppery!

Thanks for looking! Can't wait for regularly warmer weather to get outside more often!

Nice job getting the chicken perfect. It seems to me that rubbing with oil makes for better skin. When I do a whole chicken I like to rub it all over with softened butter. Nice meal.
