Wanted something quick for lunch today. Saw this recipe on the BBQ Pit Boys WEB SITE and decided to go for it. Dogs, with natural casings, were wrapped in 80 percent hamburger, which was seasoned
with S/P and Garlic powder, then covered with thin sliced bacon. Put onto the Performer
with a small chunk of mesquite. Had a little burger left so threw that on with the dogs.
I rotated the dogs after 20 minutes and then at the 40 minute mark covered them with sliced
sharp cheddar cheese. (Took the burgers off..They were good!!
)
Cheese is melted, dogs are done!
Plated with horseradish mustard, diced jalapenos and some homemade BBQ sauce.
Wasn’t quite sure we would like this recipe but after the first bite I was sure that
I cooked the right thing! Very delicious and I found that even with the 80 percent burger
and the bacon they were not greasy at all.
Thanks for looking!
