Looks like the back cross member is missing, depending on the rust status it might be a good candidate for rehabbing.
 
I had the 1100, which I think was the Home Depot version of the 1000. Came with cast iron grates and a red lid. It was a tremendous grill. I used it literally hundreds of times a year for basically 20 years. Replace the burner once, the grates once and flavorizer bars maybe twice. The best feature was the left-right burner orientation which allowed for perfect indirect heating when cooking ribs. I replaced it with a Genesis II E-310 Grill which honestly doesn't cook anywhere near as well. Bummer.
 
Chris: There are tons of old Genesis 1000 grills being pushed to the curb these days. You should grab one, spend some time and maybe $100 and have that old honey back on the deck.
