Hey folks, I thought for my second post I would show off the cart I made out of wire shelving for my WSM. I can't tell you how happy I am to not have to make 3 trips to set this thing up anymore

I bought a 24 x 48 inch three shelf unit, some casters, a cart handle and some hooks. Then I took an angle grinder to it. I braced the middle shelf with some angle iron and had some polypropylene cut for the middle and top shelves. Hopefully the middle won't be affected by the the heat from the charcoal...we'll see. The top shelf has already passed the test.

Andy, use away! It's pretty straightforward but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Tom, not sure, I haven't tried yet. I doubt it, though. The cart is a bit longer than the Performer.

Can you show a pic of the other side? Did you leave the middle shelf's cross brace on the backside? Find a cover for it yet?

This solves all of my issues: somewhere to put the lid while basting meat, a clip on light and stand for the Maverick ET-732 as well as hangers for tools. Love it!

Excellent idea and implementation. I will be duplicating this in a couple of weeks.

Excellent idea. Does the rack sit outside in the weather? or is she garage kept?

Also, are you able to pick up the center section if needed? I'm guessing not. (Of course, I've never seen a 22.5, so maybe it's not possible to lift that center section no matter where you keep it.

I ran out and shot some pics of the cart empty as well as a couple of different angles.

The center section can be removed, but you have to rotate it about 15 degrees so the latch will clear the crossbar.

I don't have a cover, but I keep it in the garage, so it's not an issue. My Webers are in the garage...my truck stays outside...priorities.

Here's the view from around back.

Here's Otto modeling the empty cart for all of you.

And lastly, the cart with the polypropylene cutting board material in place.

Nice job! Thanks for the pics.
A 52" universal grill cover should fit your new cart.

I have 2 Large Big Green Eggs in a Metro cart.

That is a great looking cart!

Is it the 24d x 42w x 34h model?

How did you cut the wires out of shelving and make the cuts smooth? Also, do the posts have some sort of threading to accept casters?

Thanks!
