The McRib is basically pressed pork in the shape of a rib. The Mini-piglet is also pork but in the shape of a mini-pig. So... they seem to fall in the same category. In either case, most TVWBB'ers wouldn't buy either.
As for "injected turkeys", it seems that most TVWBB'ers prefer non-injected turkeys. But because of the rest of the population will make a "moister" turkey when enhanced, that's why they sell them that way(of course lowering the cost by making people pay for the injection is another story).
The point I was trying to make is that - no matter how much I like or dislike a product, if someone can make money selling it, they will sell it.
Oh how I love a good debate in the morning

So what's the basic ingredients of a brine? About the same as a lot of enhanced turkeys... so not exactly the same as if Tom Turkey was processed to potted meat and molded into his own likeness. Think that'll be at Costco by next Thanksgiving? Hope not.
But thanks for the education on the McRib. I had no idea and haven't had one since I was a kid, but I'm not surprised in the least. Wonder if McDonald's would sell any if most folks knew they didn't contain rib meat. Bet most everyone wonders what the heck this mini-pig is, though!
Nevertheless, I agree with your point about selling. If there's a market for this molded pork piglet though, that's kind of sad and I'm still kind of surprised such a thing would show up at a Costco. Guess if it comes and goes, there wasn't much of a market after all.
