Calling All Woodworkers- What To Do With A Chunk of Solid Teak?

I found this chunk of lumber in the scrap pile and was going to use it to make blocking- then I noticed someone wrote”teek” on the side and it is indeed teak.

2” thick x 5.5” wide x 39” long.

Something outdoor and grilling related?

Any suggestions?

That’s what I thought.

I have stashed a teak board that is about 1” thick x 4.5” wide by 84” long for awhile now, with the intention of replacing the 30 year old weathered teak handle and side table on the Genesis 1000, but haven’t gotten around to milling it up.

This piece should be destined for a greater purpose in my opinion.

I don't think Weber ever used teak on a Genesis 1000, but I do think it's a great choice for replacing what's on there now. I haven't used teak myself and I would love to see someone else do it. I think it would be gorgeous.

I’d likely hold on to it until I had a good use, several sets of handles maybe?
Or send it to Mike LA and have him make you a clipboard to record cook data!
