Making mods to a WSK or Weber Kettle is a slippery slope... both cookers are really good right out of the box....But I do love my cajun bandit door on my 22" WSM and have no regrets. I know it's not 100% needed but it is definitely nice to have in my opinion. The bandit door is way thicker than the WSM factory door. The latch has a "clamp-shut feature" which really shuts tight especially when/if you add a gasket to the door.
